All dock permitting on Lake Chatuge is handled through the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). You will need to submit a Section 26a permit application. This involves providing a site plan, dock specifications, and property details. Because this can be a complex process, we assist our clients by helping gather the necessary documentation and ensuring the proposed dock meets all TVA guidelines for the specific shoreline zone.
The cost of a dock builder on Lake Chatuge project depends on several variables:
At a minimum, you should inspect your dock once a month. However, on Lake Chatuge, maintenance needs are often dictated by the water levels. We recommend a professional check-in at least twice a month during peak season and during major water level transitions. Regular maintenance includes checking anchor cables, inspecting floats, tightening bolts, and cleaning the decking to prevent slip hazards.
