What is Rip Rap?

Rip Rap consists of strategically placed stones of varying size along a shoreline to prevent soil erosion caused by lake currents, wave action and weather over time. The primary objective of Rip Rap is to dissipate wave energy, minimizing the direct impact on the shoreline and preserving its integrity and longevity.

Choosing the Right Rip Rap Material

Selecting the appropriate Rip Rap material is crucial for a successful installation. Factors such as stone size, stone composition, weight, and durability play a pivotal role. Our experts will access your property and help select the proper Rip Rap material to maintain the natural beauty of your shoreline for years to come.

Purchased new stairs for my dock. Bradley worked with me and kept me updated on when the stairs would be installed. The installers went above my expectations in getting my new stairs installed. I could not be happier with the work that Martin Docks did in ordering my stairs and getting them installed on my dock. I highly recommend this company for all your dock needs. And a big thanks to Bradley Allen!!

Another update - Aug 16th 2023 - This dock is still going strong! As and Update - 11/1/2017 My dock is still doing great and we love it. We are having them do another dock on my other property. I dont even bother calling anyone else. Just had my 32x32 double slip with sun deck dock delivered at my lake property by Martin Docks and I could not be happier with the results. Not a single weld or screw that looks out of place. Quality materials, trex decking, thick gauge aluminum, made to order, and they even engineered a section of the dock the way that i wanted so I could take some pieces in and out for either more deck space or more boat space. Worked with Scott Twiggs - he is very professional and eager to please. He came and met with the corps and spoke with them several times on my behalf and I felt like I could trust him to convey my desires to the corps in a way that could get things done. Martin Docks will still be coming to place a couple wood stairs/ramps after corps approval. This is my first lake property and my first experience with Martin docks. I could not be happier. Just a side note, my grandfather makes docks much like this one in Alabama on Smith Lake. Even he was (very) impressed with the craftsmanship and price. Martin Docks delivered my dock back in 2016, excellent quality and build with my leg design to allow my pontoon to remain suspended in dock when the TVA lowered Lake Chatuge. Had a problem in 2022 and Martin Docks along with Danny Miller and David Ivester got the repair done quickly and professionally. I can't thank them enough for their dedication to a fine product.
