Lake Chatuge sits right on the Georgia–North Carolina line, so a dock here has to suit steep coves, fluctuating TVA water levels, and two states’ worth of shoreline. Martin Docks designs, builds, repairs, and maintains custom docks across both sides of the lake — from a simple private slip to a luxury dock with a sundeck, covered slip, and boat lift.
Full dock building, repair, and Dock Watch service for Hiawassee, Young Harris, and the surrounding Towns County shoreline — with our Hiawassee office just minutes from the water.
We build and service docks across the North Carolina shoreline too, including Hayesville and Warne — same crews, same quality, on either side of the state line.
Custom aluminum and floating boat docks built around your shoreline — decking in wood, composite, PVC, or aluminum, with sundecks and covered slips.
DuraTek boat lifts and Wave Armor PWC ports sized to your boat or jet ski — keeping watercraft out of the water and easy to launch.
Marine Concepts boat covers offer a precision-fit, wind-resistant way to protect your boat with an easy track system that one person can put on or take off in under 60 seconds.
Float replacement, re-leveling, redecking, and full remodels that bring an aging Chatuge dock back to life — handled by the crews who build them.
Motor and cable replacement, alignment, and full mechanical service on all major lift types — fast diagnosis to get you back on the water.
Rip rap erosion control and custom shoreline steps for safe access and stable banks on Chatuge’s steep, rocky lots.
Protect My Shoreline
Our team collaborates with you from first sketch to final board, so your dock fits your property, your boat, and the way your family uses the water.

Lake Chatuge is a Tennessee Valley Authority reservoir, which means every new dock, replacement, or major shoreline modification has to meet TVA’s permitting and placement rules. We’ve navigated that process for decades and the local requirements specific to Chatuge — so we’ll guide your application from start to approval and keep your project compliant.
Founded by G.H. Martin in 1956 and still family-owned, Martin Docks pairs nearly seven decades of lake know-how with modern computer-aided design across Chatuge, Blue Ridge, Nottely, and beyond.

Yes. Lake Chatuge is a TVA-managed reservoir, so all new dock construction, replacements, and major shoreline modifications are permitted through the Tennessee Valley Authority. Martin Docks has extensive experience with TVA permitting and the requirements specific to Chatuge, and we’ll help guide your application from start to approval.
Floating aluminum docks tend to perform best on Chatuge because they handle the lake’s seasonal water-level changes and steep coves well. We design each dock for your exact depth, shoreline terrain, and how you use the water.
Plan on a check at least once a month, and more often as water levels shift through the seasons. Our Dock Watch program visits twice a month for moves, inspections, and maintenance, with a full photo report after every visit.
Schedule a free, no-obligation consultation. Because water depth, materials, decking, lift preferences, and shoreline terrain all affect price, we’ll walk your property, talk through options, and provide a custom estimate built for your Chatuge lot.
Fall and winter are ideal — lower water levels make construction, repairs, and shoreline stabilization easier, and scheduling in the off-season means your dock is ready for peak lake months.
Tell us about your shoreline and your boat, and we’ll handle the design, the TVA permitting, and the build.
